As new moms,
we found ourselves frustrated that more people weren’t talking about the emotional and psychological transition to motherhood.
We often hear, "no one told me" or "this wasn't what I was expecting." We were tired of moms feeling blind-sided and un-supported; left without the skills to navigate this massive shift in their identity.
This felt like a CALL TO ACTION for us!
Moms Matter Now focuses on proactive and preventative Maternal Mental Health.
WHO ARE WE?
Growing up Calisa played a motherly role to her three, significantly younger siblings.
When she became a mom herself to three girls (each born at home), she expected it to come naturally, so was surprised to experience postpartum anxiety following baby #2.
Professionally she serves as the Executive Director of a local non-profit. Calisa has recently mastered unique ways of fitting exercise and self care into her busy routine and looks forward to teaching other moms to do so as well.Learn More About Calisa's WHY >>>
Holly is a sibling to triplets and a mother of twins.
Her greatest fear in life has always been losing herself in the transition to motherhood. Her journey included infertility, pregnancy loss, and postpartum anxiety.
Holly is a retired Olympic athlete and today is a therapist (PMH-C) whose passions include teaching women self-advocacy skills. It’s her mission to spread her personal mantra which is "taking care of yourself IS taking care of your children."Learn more about Holly's WHY >>>
